When I run into other editors and publishers these days, it seems we are obliged to spend at least a few moments pondering what to make of this new world of media. With all of the change, it is hard to know how far the metaphor of “the press” will stretch, but it seems undeniable that the changes we’re seeing in media habits will not soon abate.
KPFA, the first community radio station in the U.S., is a huge voice for media democracy and freedom in this country, and Hard Knock Radio is at the cutting edge of that. As the station’s daily hip hop show, we use pop culture as tool for social change. Hard Knock Radio reclaims souls by producing intelligent and creative hip-hop programming.
