Mia Murrietta is a writer and nonprofit communications professional with a mission to use words to lift up the stories and ideas too often left out of mainstream discourse.
As Communications Manager for Bioneers, Mia works to maximize the reach and impact of Bioneers through our website, email campaigns, and social media, as well as the accessibility of our videos and radio show.
Prior to joining the Bioneers team, Mia worked in various communications roles with the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, The Pachamama Alliance, Fair Trade USA, Buddhist Peace Fellowship, and other San Francisco Bay Area nonprofits. Her writing on the work of The Pachamama Alliance will appear in the anthology Ecopsychology: The Interface Between Psychology and Environmental Protection, to be published by ABC-CLIO in late 2014.
Mia lives in Oakland, California, where she shares a sunny apartment with her husband and Italian Greyhound. Outside office hours, you’re most likely to find her cooking, reading, cracking jokes, thinking about socially engaged Buddhism, or walking around Lake Merritt.
