Our misbegotten industrial food system is one of our greatest vulnerabilities: dangerously fossil fueled, toxic, monocultural, and insanely centralized. Fortunately, the countervailing locavore movement is spreading rapidly, and it will increasingly become a matter of survival and resilience in the face
of radical environmental disruptions. Michael Pollan has been at the
