About Bioneers
Bioneers is a nonprofit educational organization that highlights breakthrough solutions for restoring people and planet. Since 1990, Bioneers has acted as a fertile hub of social and scientific innovators with practical and visionary solutions for the world’s most pressing environmental and social challenges. A celebration of the genius of nature and human ingenuity, Bioneers connects people with solutions and each other. Its acclaimed annual national and local conferences are complemented by extensive media outreach including an award-winning radio series, book series, and role in media projects such as Leonardo DiCaprio’s film The 11th Hour.
The Bioneers Conference celebrates 22 years in 2011–it's one of the largest and oldest overarching environmental and social justice conferences in the United States. Inherently interdisciplinary in scope, the conference brings together thought leaders including scientists, academics, business leaders, doctors, activists and other experts who represent the leading edge of the work being done in the field broadly labeled as sustainability.
A fundamental focus is on breakthrough solutions inspired by natural systems and human ingenuity. Nature has conducted 3.8 billion years of R & D on how to live sustainably – the solutions in nature consistently surpass our concept of what is even possible.
The Beaming Bioneers Program
The Beaming Bioneers program provides a platform for local education, networking and organizing. Partners can receive a live satellite broadcast of the keynote presentations from the Bioneers Conference in California and are invited and encouraged to wrap their own local programming around the broadcast, leading to a relevant and engaging global/local approach to the issues and topics dealt with at the main event.
Your local Beaming Bioneers conference can be produced in one of several ways: live in real time, by delay on the same days, or on a later date (using DVDs).

We focus on topics including: urban restoration, bio-cultural diversity, green jobs and more. As a Beaming Bioneers partners, your campus will be recognized in our materials, outreach and from the stage at the Bioneers Conference, clearly identified as a leading institution in this effort.

The Beaming Bioneers program offers a way for your campus to become involved in a national discussion while generating enthusiasm and surfacing innovation at the local level. Depending on your interest and vision, Beaming Bioneers can be anything from an exciting speaker series to a fully grown conference, featuring students, faculty and community members on panels and workshops wrapped around legendary keynote speakers broadcast in. Access and connections to other Beaming Bioneers partners is included in the program as well as toolkits, online trainings and more. The Beaming Bioneers program provides educational institutions with affordable access to a well-respected slate of high-stature speakers covering a broad range of environmental and social justice issues. This is an incredibly effective, one-stop shop to spark conversation, engage discussion and inspire participants on your campus. Prior partner educational institutions have built coursework around the conference, provided credit for attending students, and initiated professional development opportunities for educators and community members.
