Darlene Sanderson, Ph.D.

Darlene Sanderson (Cree), Ph.D., has deeply researched indigenous teachings about the spiritual dimensions of water, and has developed a thirteenweek curriculum, Traditional Perspectives on Water: How Can Elders’ Teachings Be Applied Today for Future Generations? Ms. Sanderson, a former cardiology nurse and children’s health specialist, has been very active in indigenous participation in many international conclaves: the World Council of Religious and Spiritual Leaders; the World Indigenous Peoples’ Conference on Education; The Global Peace Initiative of Women Religious and Spiritual Leaders; the Third World Water Forum; and the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, especially its caucuses on water.
