Ohki Siminé Forest shares her unique perspectives on the rising of the Zapatista indigenous resistance in Chiapas, Mexico where she has lived since 1986. She illuminates the significance of the growing Zapatista movement that is transformational for the whole of humanity, especially when seen in the light of ancient Native prophecies. In these times of great hope, filled with tremendous opportunities for weaving a saner web of life, we also are facing huge crises. Cultivating presence, consciousness & balance has never been more vital in order to maintain our creative resistance to collective illusions & social injustices. Ohki offers potent examples of these qualities from the Zapatista struggle for dignity & her own collaboration with the indigenous Maya for two decades on sustainable spiritual, educational, health & agricultural projects through her social justice organization, Red Wind Councils, which is based on ancient Native Council ways.
