Hans van Zijst has 25 years of environmental policy development experience, including: sixteen years in the Dutch government working on national and international issues (including: waste management, biodiversity, climate change, sustainable development, and green plans); six years in international consultancy (ERM Netherlands); and four years with his own company - Policy in Context. Currently he spends his time on multi-stakeholder processes around several large infrastructure projects in the Netherlands, including the Rotterdam harbor extension, and is a city council member in his hometown.
