Andrea Cristina Mercado, the lead organizer at Mujeres Unidas y Activas (MUA), a grassroots Latina immigrant women's organization in the SF Bay Area, coordinates MUA's campaign for "Workers Rights Inside and Outside the Home." Andrea previously worked in Brazil with IPETERRAS, a sustainable agriculture project organizing against free trade agreements and as global justice organizer for the Miami Workers Center. She is also on the leadership council of the Bay Area Immigrant Rights Coalition (BAIRC) and sits on the boards of DataCenter and Project South: Institute for the Elimination of Poverty and Genocide.
