"ARTIVIST" is the first international film festival and awards dedicated to addressing Human Rights, Children's Advocacy, Environmental Preservation, and Animal Rights.  Our mission is to strengthen the voice of activist artists - "Artivists" – while raising public awareness for social global causes.  
 
This year’s Artivist is partnering with KPFK Radio and CURRENT TV, reaching more than 25 million people.  The 2007 Artivist Awards takes place on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, honoring Ted Danson, Alyssa Milano, Claes Nobel of the Nobel Peace Prize Family, and the winning Films of the Artivist Film Festival.  
 
The Artivist Awards honors artists whose exemplary work in their community stands out as a shining example of one person's ability to change the world for the better. Past Artivist Awards Recipients Include Such Renowned Individuals As: Joaquin Phoenix,  Matthew McConaughey, Daryl Hannah, Mira Sorvino, Ed Begley Jr., and Tippi Hedren
 
The Artivist Awards have also paid tribute to such highly regarded international organizations as AMNESTY, GLOBAL GREEN, WITNESS, GREENPEACE, HUMANE SOCIETY OF THE UNITED STATES, PREVENT CHILD ABUSE AMERICA, AND CHILD WELFARE LEAGUE OF AMERICA.
 
Artivist has reached millions of people with its public relations campaign and has received endorsements from various community leaders including Senator Barbara Boxer, Congressman and Presidential Nominee Dennis Kucinich, and the UNITED NATIONS.  
 
Last year’s Artivist Film Festival was pleased to announce that its Film Program not only ranged widely in activist topics, but also featured such noted activist-artists as Tom Hanks, Susan Sarandon, Martin Sheen, Viggo Mortensen, Elton John, Morgan Spurlock, Brett Ratner, Andy Garcia, and others.  Films premiered at the festival have included Academy Award winner "Born Into Brothels", Academy Award Nominees "Super-Size Me", “God Sleeps in Rwanda, and the Los Angeles Premieres of "Fast Food Nation", "Emanuelle's Gift", and "Trudell".
