“Rockwood trainings are brilliantly designed and executed – a profound combination of strategy and insight. I feel a greatly enhanced level of human-ness and intimacy in connection with my colleagues, and I know that this work will serve to propel our shared concerns toward more rapid change in the world.”

An Invitation to Social Change Leaders to the Art of Leadership
September 23-26
Edith Macy Center,
Briarcliff Manor, NY
The Rockwood Leadership Program promotes social change through delivering expert tools in organizational leadership and collaboration to progressive non-profits.
Rockwood’s ART OF LEADERSHIP is an invitation to join a select community of social change leaders in creating and sustaining compelling visions for their organizations while dealing more effectively with organizational challenges.
THE PROGRAM:
This four-day intensive seminar is designed to teach powerful visioning, listening, speaking, presentation, coaching, team-building, and feedback skills to emerging and established leaders.
THE TRAINERS:
Jose Acevedo is a lawyer and organizational development consultant experienced in facilitating individual and organization-wide change. Jose has worked with a host of clients including Lucent Technologies, American Airlines, The City of New York, IBM’s Almaden Research Lab, United Way, the New York Social Justice Leadership Project, and Leadership for A Changing World.
Mercedes Martin has pioneered the introduction of global diversity and leadership development programs in Africa, South and Central America. She has special expertise on global cultural competence, intercultural team building and leadership development and is an adjunct faculty member at San Francisco State University, University of Santa Cruz Executive Leadership Institute, and the John F. Kennedy University Women’s Leadership Institute as an advisory board member.
COST:
Rockwood believes leadership can and should reflect the diverse communities in which we live and work. Reflecting our commitment, and thanks to the generous support of the foundations and donors who support us, we underwrite up to 75% of the cost of trainings for leaders whose organizations have limited resources. The sliding scale cost for this training is $500 to $2000, based on your organization’s annual budget. There will be a separate room and board fee of $570 to cover the full four-day training.
