STORYTELLING IS AN ANCIENT ART THAT CONNECTS US TO OURSELVES, OUR community and to the greater whole. At its best, storytelling brings both storyteller and listener deep into their hearts. Through this shared journey, there is a possibility of creating empathy, compassion and a bridge to lead us past our differences and into our shared humanness. In this way, our stories become a powerful tool for personal and global change.
Through this interactive workshop you will learn to access your stories through writing and solo improvisation, and learn to support others in writing and performing their life stories. No previous experience required. All you need is the willingness to show up with your own unique humanity and a willingness to tell the truth.
Tanya Taylor Rubinstein, facilitator, is the artistic director of Project Life Stories in Santa Fe, NM and the creator of the Transformational Monologue Process, which has been utilized to support “regular” people going through life challenges to write and perform their stories onstage. Lunch will be provided for all participants.
