To connect yoga and social change has been my dream as long as I can remember. Through the practices of yoga, we can tune into our true values and learn how to embody them consciously in the world. Every human being longs to
make a contribution that leaves the world a better place. The question is how do we find where and how to make a difference?

This is where the Spiritual Activation Series comes in. It is a monthly event offered at Yoga Sangha where an important guest speaker addresses current social/spiritual/environmental issues followed by an easy to follow, heartfelt yoga class. Led by Katchie Ananda, participants will explore these issues through asana, music, and meditation. As information is processed through the body, it becomes “real” and has the capacity to tell us whether this is “our” task to take on. Action taken in the world coming from this cellular place has a different effect then action taken because of feelings that we “should” do something. Thus we become an empowered and embodied agent for change in the world. We will convene with the speaker in a circle after class for discussion and explore the ways we may want to get involved. By presenting many different topics over the course of the series, our hope is to connect students with an issue they find close to their heart.
