AIM was the first land trust in the
United States to focus on farmland preservation. Founded in 1980 by a

Marin County, California, AIM acquires agricultural conservation

has so far permanently protected more than 41,500 acres of
land on 64 family farms and ranches.

Founded in 1982, Conservation Corps North Bay (originally the Marin Conservation Corps)
was the nation's first local nonprofit conservation corps. In the last year alone, we've restored 84 miles of trail, maintained 41.4
miles of country creeks and re-vegetated 11 acres of land. The Conservation Corp North Bay has helped Bioneers have a 78% diversion rate (78% of the waste generated at the Bioneers Conference is diverted from the landfill).
Ecology Center
The Ecology Center provides the public with reliable
information, tools, hands-on training, referrals, strategies,
infrastructure, and models for sustainable living. Our programs enable
people to adopt practices that are environmentally and socially
responsible. We run Berkeley's residential curbside recycling program, the Berkeley Farmers' Markets, Farm Fresh Choice food justice program, Terrain magazine, EcoHouse demonstration home and garden, the Ecology Center store, and a variety of Information and Climate Change Action programs.
